Who can see what in SenseStack (roles explained)

The six roles used across the SenseStack app and what each can see, edit, and administer.

SenseStack uses six roles. They're deliberately few — enough to model a real operating team without turning every setting change into a permissions puzzle.

    RoleTypical personCan do
OwnerThe business owner or MDEverything — including billing and deleting the account.
ManagerSite manager, area managerEdit assets, profiles, users at their locations. No billing.
InstallerField engineer or partnerRegister devices, run install checks, view diagnostics.
StaffFront-of-house, duty staffSee dashboard, log entries, acknowledge Attention. No edits.
SenseStack SupportOur teamRead-only access to help you when you ask. Never edits without you.
Super AdminInternal onlyCross-organisation setup and diagnostics.

    Location-scoped, not global

Manager, Installer and Staff roles are assigned per location. A manager at your Cork site can't see or edit your Dublin site unless you also assign them there. Owners see everything by default.

Rule of thumb: if you're unsure which role to give someone, start with Staff and upgrade if they need it. Downgrading someone from Manager to Staff removes edit rights immediately.
