Readiness profiles: setting targets for saunas, plunges & steam
Every asset type has a target band and a tolerance window. Here's what the numbers mean and how to tune them for your site.
A readiness profile is a small set of numbers that tells SenseStack what "ready" looks like for a given asset. Change the profile, change the thresholds — the state engine does the rest.
What a profile contains
- Target range — the band you want the asset to sit inside during Ready (e.g. sauna 80–90°C, plunge 4–8°C).
- Preparing threshold — the value at which the asset is considered on its way (e.g. sauna above 55°C is Heating, not Idle).
- Recovery window — how long to stay in Recovering after leaving Ready before flipping to Idle.
- Attention rules — how far outside the band and for how long before staff are pinged.
- Operating hours — outside these, the asset stays Idle regardless of telemetry.
Sensible defaults per asset
| Asset | Target band | Attention if |
|---|---|---|
| Traditional sauna | 80–90°C | Below 70°C or above 100°C for 10+ min |
| Infrared sauna | 45–55°C | Below 35°C or above 65°C for 10+ min |
| Cold plunge | 4–8°C | Above 12°C for 5+ min |
| Steam room | 40–46°C, 100% RH | Below 38°C or RH below 90% for 10+ min |
Defaults ship with every install. You only need to touch them if your target experience differs — e.g. a colder plunge (2–6°C) or a hotter sauna (85–95°C).
Who can edit profiles
Owners and Managers can edit readiness profiles from System → Readiness Profiles. Staff and Installers see the current profile but can't change it. Every change is logged with a timestamp and user.
