Reading Your Dashboard at a Glance

Two-second scannability for operators — what each readiness word means in practice, and the right next action for each one.

The dashboard is built around a contract: one word per device, scannable in two seconds. You should never need to interpret a number to decide whether a sauna or plunge is fit to open. This article is the short field guide for the front-of-house team.

The readiness words and what they ask of you

    You seeIt meansDo this
ReadyInside the target band and stable.Open the device to guests.
PreparingClimbing or descending toward target.Wait — no action needed.
RecoveringSettling after a session.Hold the next guest for a moment.
IdlePowered, not actively preparing.Start a session when scheduled.
AttentionSomething is outside the expected range.Open the device card for the reason.
OfflineNo recent data from the device.Check power and the network at the unit.

Why the word is more useful than the number

A sauna touching 80°C for two seconds is not yet 'Ready' for a guest, and a plunge that drifts to 8.2°C while someone steps in is not a fault. The dashboard absorbs that noise so the team in the room can keep moving. If the word is steady, you can trust it.

    Recovery between guests

Saunas lose a few degrees when the door opens. Plunges warm slightly when a body enters and the water moves. Both come back inside their target band quickly — usually well under the gap between bookings. While that is happening, the device shows Recovering, then returns to Ready on its own.

    • Sauna recovery after a door cycle: typically 1–3 minutes.
    • Plunge recovery after a guest exits: typically 2–5 minutes.
    • If recovery takes noticeably longer than usual, mention it at handover — patterns are worth knowing.

    When to ask for help

Attention and Offline are the two words that ask for a person, not patience. Attention means the readings drifted outside the working band beyond tolerance — open the device card and the contributing measurement will be highlighted. Offline means the dashboard has lost contact with the device — start with power, then the network. If either persists past one cycle, escalate to the site admin.

Trust the word on the card. If it has held steady for more than a minute, it reflects what an experienced operator standing in the room would say.

What good looks like over a day

On a normal trading day you should see long stretches of Ready, short Recovering bursts between guests, Idle blocks outside operating hours, and the occasional Preparing in the morning before opening. Attention and Offline should be rare events, not background noise.
